Primaland was much misunderstood book when it came out in 2003. The book as it's currently available reads like some kind of fever dream, mixed with the awe of frequent discoveries made by an unnamed figure as he travels through a bizarre land somehow oblivious to the laws of logic and reason. The place had it's own version of logic, the type usually found in dreams and fantasies. What the book never gives away is that it's a metaphysical version of my life story; the things I've experienced depicted in a strange amalgamation of metaphor and my own subconscious.

It's also a type of stream of consciousness piece in homage to Jack Kerouac and William S. Burroughs, easily two of the most original and fascinating "beat" writers of the 50's. In a filmic
sense, it was also an homage to the masterpieces of David Lynch,
Hal Ashby, Stanley Kubrick and Sam Peckinpah. It's a tribute to all
the great road movies of the last third of the twentieth century.

What's different about the 15th Anniversary "Restored" Version coming out in 2018? Simply put: I've made it much more accessible, in ways depicted by a "parallel" version of The Stranger who exists in the land of reality and logic. This other character experiences mirror-like versions of The Stranger's experiences, almost like the punchline to a joke. The first version of Primaland, by contrast, only depicted the metaphysical/metaphorical aspect of the story. In this way, the two versions provide very different perspectives. It's a fun ride once the reader knows that small detail.
